Rhum Clément JonOne V.S.O.P. Launch Party
If you were a 125 year old rum producer, how would you celebrate your birthday? Rhum Clément recently celebrated their 125th birthday and celebrated by collaborating with artist JonOne to launch a limited edition bottle of their Clément V.S.O.P. Rhum Agricole Vieux. The rum is aged a minimum of four years in virgin Limousin barrels and re-charred Bourbon casks. The aged rum is blended expertly to showcase flavors of caramel, spice and dried fruit, as well as some tropical fruits and wet minerals that are often a signature of agricole rhums. It’s the kind of rum that could convert a die-hard bourbon drinker, who didn’t realize that aged rum could taste so complex.
Rhum Clément held a release party in Los Angeles at the Fabien Castanier Gallery, featuring rhum-centric cocktails and ti punches, as well as a live painting by JonOne. Though JonOne is a street artist, it isn’t that often that you have the opportunity to see an artist at work – especially not with a cocktail in-hand!
The gallery was a fantastic space for admiring the art and chatting with both art and rum-lovers. Since JonOne is a very enthusiastic painter, we had to give him a bit of space to ensure that we were all outside of the splash zone!
